Meet our founder
Wendy Sue Horn
A seasoned clinician helping individuals, adolescents and parents since 2005, expert in the field of EMDR therapy and perinatal mental health, Wendy Sue Horn is passionate about helping others understand and conquer their fears and worries, so they can feel more connected, calm, and happy.
She also provides fellow therapists with tools, resources, education, and a lifeline for professional development. As an EMDRIA-approved consultant, Wendy Sue teaches and mentors therapists learning to treat trauma and dissociation.
Wendy Sue has been helping children and parents in both the private and public sector for over twenty years. With experience with infants through adolescence, working with a diverse array of parents at various critical points on their journey from postpartum through young adulthood. Postpartum Anxiety is a particular area of expertise that chose Wendy Sue years ago when her work with infants and parents crossed over with her specialty in trauma. Wendy Sue helps parents individually and in groups, gain emotional fluency and tools for self regulation so that they can show up as the parent they know they would like to be.
After obtaining her degree in child development and psychology and a Master’s in social work (and working with nonprofits treating individuals with complex trauma histories and co-occurring disorders), Wendy Sue opened a thriving practice in San Francisco, California, where she specialized in treating clients with trauma, anxiety, dissociation, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
In 2017, Wendy Sue relocated to Portland, Oregon, the city she still calls home today. In addition to her EMDRIA-approved certifications, Wendy Sue facilitates a Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) certification program in adoption competent mental health services offered to mental health clinicians by the Oregon Department of Human Services. Wendy Sue is also certified in issues of Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International. She is also a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
Wendy Sue is a natural teacher who considers it a privilege to help people overcome their burdens and watch as change occurs throughout their lives. She imbues her work with devotion and joy and brings her seasoned experience, sharp clinical intuition, and grounded presence to each individual that she encounters.
